what the heck are they asking me for? we all share duties, but if some of us want to take vacation time, the responsibility of making sure the desk in covered falls upon Ms. Circ. who applied for the job, got the job, and stuck me with opening every morning at 7am.
he came to my office to see if i had read the email. i said yes and that it's really none of my business if he wants to take days off. it has nothing to do with me. slacker takes days off all the time without giving anyone heads up and without any guilt that one of us poor sods will be stuck at the desk for 8 hours, we're lucky to get 15min to pee...
1. i don't have the power to say yes or no to anyone. i'm not in charge here...
but if i had said no, that it wouldn't be good for him to take those days off because i was planning to, it'll only make me look like the bad guy and ms. circ is free as a bird from the situation.
2. if i had said yes, they would all assume (they do anyway) that franny will cover everyone's vacation 'til 2003...and that i don't plan on visiting my parents for the holiday... so it's alright to stick me...
3. i also told him that i haven't really had time to think about my vacation or holiday plans since i've been busy with school and that i just don't want the added pressure of having to plan all this right now to appease everyone except me.
i missed ALL of the holidays last year. this year i will spend with my parents and family. i have just as much right as everyone else to enjoy the holidays and if i have the vacation time coming, they can't say jack about it.
let Ms. Wannabe Boss sit her butt at the desk...that's why she gets paid the big bucks...
