five...
Tue Sep 14 2010

watching The Drs. on tv while at the gym this AM, there was an assignment to list 5 things that make you happy...things that always manage to bring a smile to your face.

here is my listwith one added:
1. visiting my Mom, seeing family especially on Holidays
2. dog(s) being walked. i find it difficult to believe that there are people who don't smile when they see a dog(s) getting walked...
3. running a good race (by good i mean ending strong)
4. listening to my favorite song (at the time) over and over again.
5. being treated well and with respect at the place of my employment.
6. being sought out by my cats, who then, i can't resist picking up and kissing

~~~
a little sore today, needed more time for recovery from last nights 4 miler with each 4th lap run at a slightly faster pace. not really doing speed work per se, just trying to get a little faster and stronger. anyhow, got up early this AM to run the required 8 miler. the first 5 were okay...slow but okay. decided to head to the gym to finish off and only managed to run another 1 1/2 miles...walked home 20 blocks. legs are tired...will rest up and head to the gym tonight to do some cross training to make up for the 1 1/2 miles i didn't run. tomorrow i run another 4 miler and then thurs is rest day before my long run of 16 miles. (i'm running out of places to run!) may just run it at prospect park, i just hate dealing with all of the walkers...
~~~
still crushing on a fellow employee. hopefully it'll fade really soon. work is going well.
~~~
will head out soon to run some errands, pick up items i've placed on hold at the library (another 20 block walk 1-way) do some food shopping.
i'm a little excited. i'll be going to 2 concerts. one this month to see The National and one next month to see the Local Natives (if you haven't heard any these bands, you should google them and listen...)
Mom is doing well. i'll try to visit her next week. the long car rides really mess up my legs though...can't sit for long and this makes it really difficult to train... next week, the long run will only be 12 miles...so i won't be as sore.
time to get going
ciao!
