second driving lesson today. this time, i was on the road more. i did tell the instructor that i needed to warm-up and get use to the feel of the car.
i even did a u--ey..(a u-turn). i couldn't just take over as soon as he showed up for the lesson...he picked me up at at my workplace. that area is usually jammed with traffic. this panics me because i know that patience is very short...everyone is stuck in traffic and in a hurry to get home. not exactly what a novice driver needs. he did put the sign up on the roof of the car but i was just too nervous to take over in that area so, we drove to the big parking lot and i did some large figure eights and then we hit the road. i think i did okay considering it was only my second lesson. i'm especially proud of my usage of the brakes, only one short head bobbing stop, the rest of the time, i did pretty well.

i'm cutting unnecessary things out of my budget so that i can free up some $$ for the lessons and not wipe my account out. no more luxury items. i'm hoping somehow i get U2's new album for christmas. i may cut back on the therapy too. 2 weeks a month might do. and i will probably change my long distance carrier for cheaper rates. may even get rid of internet access and just keep the basics. i'll also see if i can defer my school loan payments until after i finish the practicum. i have to go downtown tomorrow to renew my expired permit. the instructor didn't catch that it had expired. he informed me he could get into alot of trouble and i don't want that to happen.

it'll be a cold morning and i'm looking forward to possibly running an 8 miler. then it's off to run a few errands while i'm in the city. my sis decided to surprise me with tickets to see the Moscow Ballet's version of the Nutcracker.
so, next weekend, we'll be off to see that. the only other time i've seen that Ballet was at City Center in NYC and i went with a really good friend who had tickets. it was fun to go with him. what i remember the most about that night was that the entire row behind was taken by a Girl Scout troop...they were all in uniform. ;-P it was like sitting on a plane and having a kid kick the back of your chair the entire flight...

anyhow. need sleep, sleep, sleep.

goodnight, g'day, and ciao!
