you kill yourself for recognition, you kill yourself to never ever stop...
you broke another mirror, you're turning into something you are not.

And I'm a Captain Kangaroo kid. I watched Miss What's-her-face on Romper Room with Mr Doo Bee and Mr. Don't Bee. I sang along with Gene London.

Let's pretend that it's storytime and I'll tell a tale to you.
I'll tell you a story of Let's Pretend, and all your dreams will come true.
And when the story's over, and when it's at the end
    We'll live happily ever after
    WHERE?
In the land of Let's Pretend!

One day my late husband, Greg, came home with a book he'd bought for me, although he was not interested in the story. He just wanted me to know he thought I was the example of it's title:
    "Late Bloomer"! hugs ;)

She never called my name on Romper Room either. I thought she never saw me through her Magic Mirror, but every day I hoped she would. ("Magic Mirror, tell me today, have my friends had fun with us at play?") :(

Another Capt. Kangaroo kid, I can remember believing I was helping the Captain wake Grandfather clock each morning. (I believe C.K. is where I used to hear the song "It's Another Be Good to Mommy Day." I wish I could hear that one again. :) )

I find it amazing that I can remember being so young and believing things like that. Thanks for the fun memories.

On the other hand, my children were practically first generation Sesame Street-ers. I guess they really believed in Big Bird. :)
