so. caught up on sleep. some chores. finally headed back to the gym last night. had a good workout. cardio & weight training. i upped the weight on most of my leg work and some upper body. i've begun doing sit ups at home as well. trying to stretch more also.

my goal? get rid of the belly fat. granted, most folk out there would roll their eyes at me. but hey, it's my body and i don't like the belly fat. age shouldn't be a get out of jail free and be chubby card.

sure, there are plenty who resign themselves to the fact that they won't ever get the 22 year old body back. i'm not so naive to think i've got a shot at that...what i do have a shot at is getting rid of the excess weight and getting stronger than i am now. i can't change the simple fact that i am 43. but i can be fit, healthy, and strong. i don't have to be flabby, bloated, and not able to walk 10 blocks... it's two different things: looking good and being strong. i want both. you see plenty of spandex clad women who look good but are weak. i want to be able to kick ass! ;-) and look good doing it.

stayed up a long while last night trying to come up with an entry. words swirled through my head, songs as well...but...decided to just hit the sack.

i'm scheduled to work Memorial Day. okay by me. whatever...
