bridges and blind faith
Sun Oct 01 2006

put my foot to the metal, zoom past walking ghosts over the cross bronx expressway... eyes tight, fingers crossed, and go...it's come to this now.

and i'm back. another girl. another life, tucked away behind dingy pennsylvania spaces (the ones travel agents never advertise...) and it's a blur. a slow long foggy time.

and still, you're clear as day. even after the burning flames leave the sad little pile of hope. i can't seem to run past you. zoom my car fast enough away over gorgeous bridges to better clothes and radio...

i'm walking with my eyes closed. and still, i know the corners, the height of the subway stairs...which side to face for the opening doors. i've gone and dove off the deep end of the mosh pit, into strange faces and hands, with my heart on my sleeve and mouth chanting, catch me...i'm home.
