front part of a long thin boat-like structure. this entire section was phallic in more ways than the obvious.
my favorite butt at the Met. it use to be located on the second floor and as you ascended or descended the great steps from the main foyer, you'd see this great male butt...it's been moved and, in my opinion, has less of an impact.
there is WAY TOO MUCH to shoot photos of at the Met. in fact, The Met is really a 3-day project... the costume section was closed off...they're preparing a Christian Dior exhibit. we also went through:
the Egyptian section
the Medieval section
we saw some awesome masks from African nations, some were made out of human skin.
Southern European Baroque (yuck, not a fan of Watteau and those guys)
we hit those naughty Flemish (Hals) and Dutch (Rembrandt, he rocks)
some of the Spanish (Velaquez) and my favorite (Goya)
we didn't see any of the moderns... sorry Van Gogh, Picasso, etc. etc. etc...

the Macy's expedition afterwards was a little bit harrowing. lots of people...tons of people on the street, in the store, geez. it was overwhelming. i've grown way too slow for this lifestyle.
ps. Disney has taken over the Times Square 42nd street area. back in my day...those few blocks were inhabited by XXX theatres, full nudity adult peep-shows, and the staple that made traveling east such a charming morning walk from the Port Authority...hookers
personally, i miss the hookers, they had more character.
;-P
