the most ridiculous quote was by kurt loder from rolling stone...i mean, how can you criticize an actor for wearing a ridiculous mustache when the artist he is portraying actually wore the ridiculous mustache? silly critic. Dali was over the top. that's who he was. a seriously difficult role for anyone to attempt without looking like a mimic. careerwise, it was a good choice for Pattinson to make. don't get typecast. do a little bit of everything...don't get stuck in tween world. grow. grow. grow. that one scene where he is the voyeur wasn't so sexy as depressing and sad. a tip that the twilight crew should heed... the sex scenes are actually pretty depressing and sad. you actually feel awful for these folk.
it was a sad film. a glimpse of the artistic and personal relationship between Dali and Lorca living in a repressive Spain. how can ANY director cover that in 97 minutes? beautifully shot. wonderful locations and a really good looking cast. of the few things that made me cringe, the spanish accents...i had wished at times for subtitles because i couldn't understand what was being said.
all in all, use the film to go and delve into the lives of Lorca and Dali. interestingly enough, i was reading Lorca along with Unamuno and Borges back in high school when i took college level Spanish. i wish i'd appreciated it more back then...at 17. i went to my local library and checked out a few books. i'll make my own film in my head.
Robert Pattinson is Robert Pattinson, not edward cullen who is a ficitonal character in 4 books. he is a budding young actor that has the potential to do some really good/even great acting. critics/the masses should remember this.

Dali, i believe was a real prick.
