A brief explanation of events from February 2020 to present
Wed Jul 24 2024

It appears that my last entry was the second week of February, 2020. Remember back then? We hadn't quite shut down yet. The Election That Was was just beginning to gear up. And I had freshly broken my leg (for the third time in as many years) and was looking at surgery and a three month recuperation. Since then I had the surgery, recuperated, returned to work during the initial Rise of COVID-19, lasted two weeks at work before giving my notice (which segued into retirement), and then stayed home, ordered groceries delivered and hoped I'd be luckier than some of my immunosuppressed comrades.

As it turns out, I was indeed luckier than many. I got through 2020 to present without having caught COVID. I got through the same period of time without breaking my leg again, catching any other communicable disease, and acquiring only one new cat. His name is Perry Mason, by the way, and he has a little Maine Coon Cat blood in him.

Further updates shall appear sporadically as I check out the bells and whistles here.

Good to hear from you! (Yetzirah here) It's been quite the saga for all of us eh? I am writing in a Beta diary until I figure out what to do here in the new version of DD. Thinking I might have at least two diaries. One for day to day stuff and one for writing about what I'm learning in Torah. I'm still mulling it over. But in the meantime, it's nice to reconnect with old DD friends. Glad you are here!

Welcome back Sal! It’s good to see you. Covid was definitely a rough ride and I’m glad you managed to avoid it. As for the bells and whistles, there’ll be more coming regularly and if there’s a bell or a whistle that you want to see then let me know. Or if there’s a bell that whistles, drop me a line too :)

good to see (read?) familiar faces! (names?) ! it feels more exiting each new day! I think, soon we'll need to have a virtual house welcoming party, anyone remember this from 2004?! you're the lucky one with Covid indeed (had three of the variants in my personal collection!) looking forward to read more of your updates!
