Rejection
Tue Feb 19 2008

So THAT'S what acute organ rejection feels like.

I'm on a ton of drugs, some old and some new. The steroids are doing a freak-out number on me again, but they'll be tapering down soon now. Thanks to the steroids I'm a newly minted diabetic; with luck that will also taper down along with the steroids. They'll be slowly switching me over to a new immunosuppressant that may actually help me with the T-cell lymphoma, so part of this might end up being a win-win situation.

So I'm back, I'm OK, and I'm marginally sorry to disappoint anyone who harbored hopes that a giant cockroach ate me. Better luck next time.

    Oh, Sal!

I have nothing sensible to say.

I am in awe of your strength of spirit. Please take huge care of yourself, and as far as possible tell the rest of the world what it can do with itself.

Yes, I'm very glad to hear from you. You sure have been through a lot.

As for the troll, don't worry. What comes around goes around, three times worse, I think the witches say.

Geez, Sal! You are just "matrixing" those bullets like Keanu Reeves. Bravo! Please, keep up the good work.

Oh, and treat yourself to something nice. A massage, or maybe a nice dinner in a restaurant with white tablecloths and a sommelier. (But maybe skip the wine for the liver's sake.)

    (((hugs)))

I hope you are feeling better - sometimes the cocktails are as bad if not worse than the actual problem. At least it seems that way.

    Take care of yourself.

    Wow.

I'm glad you're back. Here's hoping those drugs do the trick.

    ((Hugs)) Keep fighting!

Goodness. I'm glad there's a pony in all that 5h!+ somewhere. Thanks for checking in. There's been a community-wise, "does anybody know what's up with Salamander, we're worried" going around.

So I hope you're still doing okay. It's been a few days.

And I feel compelled to ask, "What DOES acute organ rejection feel like?" I hope it's not indelicate of me. I can't help but imagine your abdoment hurting as your liver gets attacked. Was it that kind of pain, or was it just feverishness? Am I being impolite asking? I hope not.
