Waldo On The Move

So last night I looked in on Waldo just after dinner time and found him in the standard “J” position of a caterpillar preparing to pupate. According to the book, that meant he was due to pupate in 24 hours. This morning Waldo was still “hanging in there”.

Around 10:00 this morning I went downstairs to work on some beads, taking a peak at Waldo on the way by. I came up at 11:00 and discovered that caterpillars pupate a lot faster than I realized:

    Now I would love to have seen a time lapse of THAT event. Who knew it was so fast???

    Wow! From caterpillar to pupa in an hour? That's really amazing! How long does he (or she) stay in this stage before becoming a butterfly?
