Death by Carolling, 2004: Day One
Tue Nov 16 2004

Yes people, it's started. My insufferable Minion has yet again tuned into the 24/7 Christmas carol station, starting today. I will not be responsible for the outcome. It is on his head if I crack from one too many renditions of "Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer" or "The First Noel". Especially because he is likely to be the recipient of any violence inspired from this far-too-early, far-too-much approach to seasonal music. Already today I was tempted to teach him a new meaning for the concept of decorating with balls for Christmas.

Use your imagination.

Thirty-nine days and counting. I now remember why I hate Christmas.

I'll take pictures of the Hummels before I send them out. I'll try to post them this weekend (both in the literal and figurative senses). I just have to figure out how best to package them so they won't break in transit. I can't say I've had a lot of experience with this.

I would say that anybody celebrating Christmas in any form before it's even December should be shot, but that's too quick and painless. I think some sort of slow death involving being strung up by tinsel is in order...

Oh god, he could have waited for December.
Thanks for the morning chuckle, though, which for me started at the mere sight of the title of this entry :D. "He's doing it again??"

I was once given advice by a china reclaimation company to pack my dishes in a box, then pack the box in another box. I did what they said, and the whole set arrived intact.

Would probably work great for a single figurine.

My most sincere condolences on the 2004 edition of Death by Caroling. I think I'd be working out mysterious ways for his radios to die horrible deaths.

About the packing issue, I'd say wrap the peice in bubble wrap, and then use a slightly oversized box packed tightly with packing peanuts. Yetzirah may have something with that double boxing thing, too.

There are two laws which I think should be passed in this country. The first would make it illegal to start campaning for any office more than 2 months from the election. The second is that no person or store can put out Christmas decorations or play Christmas music until the Friday after Thanksgiving. I remember as a child looking forward to the weekend after Thanksgiving because our town would put up the street decorations, we would have the parade and all the downtown store fronts would magically transform into Christmas scenes. Now the decoations are up before Halloween,Theparadeis in the middle of December and all the storefronts are gone, just not the same. Anyway have a wonderful day and buy yourself earplugs or a personal music player.

I see you're suffering from a severe DUH attack. (Dysfunctional Unseasonable Holiday)

Take two months off and call me in January.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, those dreaded Christmas songs :( One of my co-workers was humming some Christmas ditty the other day and I threatened to use my drill on him with the intent to commit bodily harm if he didn't dissist THAT minute *shudders*. I am sick to death of Christmas already and it isn't even December

In honor(?) of Death by Caroling, I am currently regaling my co-workers with the seasonal music of MY choice: James Taylor's Greatest Hits. Ahhhh!
