Fire Walking

Saluting one's self.

These cramps are getting annoying. Without warning, my fingers or toes lock up. If it's my hand, for some reason it's nearly always the middle finger of my right hand, locked straight and stiff, as though my body were flipping me off. I was trying to read tonight, but holding the book caused me to give myself the bird three times, so I gave up. I'm going to have to find myself a nice bookholder somewhere.

Grocery shopping yesterday was an intimidating chore. I believe in the European way of shopping - buy dinner on the way home, don't keep too much hanging around the kitchen. I seldom need more than a small basket to carry my things to the check-out. Yesterday we filled a freaking cart, and hit the triple digits. I know that big ticket grocery shopping isn't all that unusual for those with families or those who do a weekly shopping trip. But I think it's the first time I spent that much money in a grocery store since I got divorced. And I didn't even hit the meat aisle! It took forever to put the stuff away, too. Of course, the Kitten didn't help. She wanted to be in the middle of all those bags. It was like Disneyland for brainless kittens. The Socialist finally got fed up with her being underfoot and stuck her in one of her beloved bags, which he then hung on a door knob. She was thrilled. It kept her out of our hair for nearly twenty minutes.

I made pickles today. Saltless pickles. They're still cooling, but they're pretty damned good. I got the recipe from the web: CHF Patients Recipes. A valid vinegar fix! I also fixed low-sodium fish and chips for dinner tonight - with tons of malt vinegar. Life is good.

If all goes well, this is my last week on short term disability. I hope to return to work a week from Tuesday. Keep your fingers crossed, boys and girls.

LOL about the shopping.I help my foster mum shop and she is always moaning the weekly bill is never under $400.00 (ie $200US)and thats a good week I think.

Glad you found a fix to your cravings. If you had stuck with the ice urges, life would be easier unless you were going for exotic ice flavours, LOL

    Hugssssss

    Crossed they are. :)

I prefer the European method as well. Alas, kids aren't conducive to it. :P Plus our Coke habit means I must always use a cart when I go. We go through obscene amounts of that stuff.

Do you have a beer aisle in your supermarket? When I go grocery shopping in Washington State I'm always amazed at the beer aisles in the supermarket. Often time they are more comprehensive than anything you might find at a beer and wine store around here.
I thought for moment the Socilaist was going to stick the cat in the freezer, but it turns out I was wrong.

glad to hear life is good, my friend, even if that means occasional self-bird flipping.
