I'd felt sorry for CW because I couldn't give him the constant attention he craved and deserved. The introduction of the Warrior Princess did nothing to alleviate poor CW's loneliness, since she rebuffed his every effort to engage her in play. She wouldn't let him groom her, she wouldn't even share the sofa with him. CW needed a friend, and I figured, with his gentle ways, a kitten would attach itself to him like I attach myself to a new box of chocolates.
As you all know, it hasn't happened that way. KfH prefers to stalk, attack, terrorize, bully, and intimidate CW. She stole his catnip, stole his food (till I started locking her up at meal times), stole his cat bed, even stole his Warrior Princess away from him. WP loves playing with KfH - they play rough, they play loud, and they play without CW.
Two nights ago, however, KfH actually allowed CW back into his cat bed. She didn't give an inch, mind you, but she was content to share. CW showed his appreciation by thoroughly grooming her face, which she appeared to adore. There may be hope yet that CW has finally found the friend he deserves.
