Kitten from Hell continues to find new ways to apply her expanding powers of wanton destruction. The most recent victim was a model of a cat that I had made and was inordinately fond of. A friend of mine (the one with nineteen cats) and I visited the Crayola factory last spring. We played with their modeling clay at one of the activity tables and I made a semi-recognizable model of a cat grooming itself. KfH has stolen this from my dresser several times, but Saturday she chewed the cat's leg off. I didn't find most of the arm, so I assume she ate it. The stuff is for kids and non-toxic, so it won't kill her. I hope she at least got indigestion from it.
I tried outsmarting her over the weekend. She's developed a nasty habit of jumping up on the kitchen counter to scavenge when no one is in line of sight. I do not permit cats on tables or counters; had she a thumb she would thumb her nose at me over this. Sunday, I left the dirty glass cutting board (with meat juice on it) on the counter, with a bit of hot pepper sprinkled on it. She sensed something was wrong though, and never even tasted the board. I know I could sprinkle some on the counter, which she would then encounter when she groomed her feet, but I just can't bring myself to be that cruel. At least, not yet. She's pushing my limits though, and she must learn that the counters are not her personal prowling range.
Clueless Wonder has developed what I believe is a rollicking case of feline acne. I first noticed it two weeks ago, but wasn't sure that's what was wrong then. His poor chin has since gone from blackhead-bumby to open sores though. I can't find my derm notes anywhere and fear they're at the ex's. I'm don't want to take any action without having a real vet look at him. Cleaning with hydrogen peroxide would probably be safe (I can't get my hands on any chlorhex easily). With these open sores though I suspect he's going to need antibiotics as well. The Professor is convinced the sores are actually wounds inflicted by KfH, but I can find no evidence of any bite marks anywhere else on him, so I really don't think that's the case. (Not that I wouldn't love to blame it on her.) CW and I go to see the real vet tomorrow night though. The Professor is taking the Warrior Princess at the same time for her overdue boosters. This should be fun ....
I'll make arrangements to have KfH spayed later this month while I'm there. THAT ought to slow the little cyclone down.
