Nearly Forgot
Mon May 12 2003

The new waiting lists have been updated on the UNOS site today. Here's the current liver standings:

Liver425
Liver Status 7 (Inactive):47
Liver MELD / PELD<10:228
Liver MELD / PELD 11-18:133
Liver MELD / PELD 19-24:16
Liver MELD / PELD 25+:1

I should be in the 19-24 figures this week. There are three "B's" waiting total. The 25+ is an "O", so even though the need is greater, there's no competition there.

So ... all of you out there who are bored to death of hearing about my liver ... raise your hands.

"Too Tired to Write Much" said the first letter in my e-mail. It was immediately followed by two more. (pausing to be amused)

I'm glad you had a good weekend, am sorry you are exhausted, will keep my finger crossed re: the MRI, and I'm nowhere near bored of hearing about your liver. I hope to be hearing about your liver until the day you say, "You know, the new liver has been working well for so long that I think I really have nothing more to say about that. In other news..."

Just got back from vacation and am catching up on what I've missed. I'm never tired of your liver updates. I find them fascinating and I'm amazed at your patience. The whole thing makes me nervous with anticipation...it feels really close now! It's got to be soon!!

I think we'll all breathe a huge sigh of relief when you can tell us they've found you a liver. A happy day indeed!
