The Little Grey Shit remains in quarantine, but I'm amazed at how well she's doing since I started the baths. She has hair coming in on most of the patches now, and the flaking has almost stopped entirely. We're also starting her on fluconazole tonight, a step up from the itraconazole. I have hopes that this new regimen will clear things up so that we can start thinking about culturing her in a couple of weeks. She won't be permitted out of quarantine until we get two consecutive clean cultures, and each culture will take approximately three weeks to do, so we're looking at letting her out the end of August at the earliest.
I still haven't heard anything official from the government about the job I applied for that I had such high hopes about, but when I checked the status of my application on-line over the weekend I found the following note appended to my file:
APPLICATION RECEIVED - NOT REFERRED-BELOW CUTOFF
You have answered all the required questions for this grade.
I'm thinking that isn't good news, thougn I have no idea what "cutoff" they might be referring to. I also have a feeling that, like the majority of the other jobs I've applied for, this means I'm not likely to hear anything further, not even a "thanks for playing, try again some time" send-off. I'd honestly thought I was tailor-made for this job. The deal I made with myself was that if I didn't get this position, then I start applying for anything, just so I can get a paycheck.
Do you want fries with that?
