I am somewhat bemused because, while I did leave my resume with this chain at the job fair last week, it was to find out if they had any positions for second party auditing or food safety management. At the time I was able to pressure them into taking my resume, but they made it clear they really weren't interested in talking to me.
I am a bit confused as well because they made a point of saying that it was necessary to apply for all jobs on line. I have not applied for any jobs with this organization on line.
I am absolutely amused by the fact that they have randomly decided to interview me, considering my background. I'll be interested in seeing how their store manager handles an interview with a veterinarian.
Still, in all seriousness, this would be some income while I continue to look for a job. I'm waiting on a response from a local insurance company I spoke to that really liked my combination of medical knowledge, paralegal background and industry experience. The representative I spoke to at the job fair last week told me specifically how to redo my resume, and asked me to get the revamped copy back to her this week so she could review it with her manager next week. Her plan is to then get back to me with any further "tweaks" the resume may need before her manager brings it to corporate management. I'll admit to having my fingers crossed on this job. It's got a lot of promisse: local company with high profile name and great benefits.
Meanwhile, however, I need to find a way to pay for Satan's Little Fart Cloud, who I'm taking to a veterinary dermatology specialist next week. After over a month of lime sulfur baths her ringworm is worse than ever. Yesterday she got another bath and I ended up collecting a fistful of wet hair from the tub and sponge. It would be nice if I could figure out how to get some income to somehow help cover these expenses she's racking up.
Bottom line, though, is that I am holding out little hope for even this cashier position. I somehow doubt they'll consider me a good candidate when I walk in with this:
