I am torn between telling him to act his age and sympathizing with him.
He voiced some unpopular views on a private forum he and I have both been made members of. I don't visit the forum myself because I found the bickering over who was to be invited in and who wasn't acceptable to be distasteful. I do visit the open "parent" forum related to this place once in a while though. The Administrator of the forum apparently asked if anybody would be upset if The Socialist's post were deleted, and receiving no response, deleted it a half an hour later. The Administrator at the same time must have banned The Socialist from being able to enter the forum, because shortly thereafter he discovered he could no longer get access.
When the Socialist realized he no longer had access to the forum, he used my logon without permission to get access. He made no further posts, but lurked only. Unfortunately, one cannot lurk invisibly at this place. People who knew me and hadn't seen me there for many months saw my name at the top of the board and made posts to me saying "hi". These, of course, went unanswered, since I wasn't there.
Later last night, The Socialist again attempted to access this forum with my password. This was after I had specifically told him I did not want to have my name seen there, but before I knew that it was too late and I'd already been seen. And this time he found my access blocked as well.
I am angry, not because I can no longer get into that forum, but because I have been banned for someone else's deeds. I am angry because the Socialist refuses to understand that speaking some of his political ideas on September 11th is akin to trying to sell life insurance at a funeral. I am angry because when I attempted to discuss this with him I was accused of arguing.
I am angry because once again I've gotten no sleep.
