This Friday is 11/11, also known as National Corduroy day. It's been declared National Corduroy day because 11/11 looks like the wales in corduroy fabric.

I found out about this a year ago, when the television show Sunday Morning had a feature about the 11/11/10 celebration. I was enchanted. I couldn't help myself. Pure whimsy is so very hard to come by these days. It's usually tinted with a touch of sarcasm or irony. But here was whimsical at its very best.

I'm only sorry I won't be attending. I need more whimsy in my life. I got a bit of it Sunday night when I got to see "Puss 'N Boots" in 3D in an IMAX theater, but that was pure spectator/no participation. It's been a long, long time since I actually did anything whimsical.

    I think I could pull of the three items of corduroy without too much trouble. Though the colors might jar a bit.

    my favorite pants in the whole wide world are cords from the Gap, low rise boot cut. gray. comfy as heck and i'm wearing them out...need to go check out the Gap for any sales...:-) we need more whimsy in the world, too much serious crap going on and i, for one, need a break from it. if i find a pair today, i'll take a pic and post for tomorrow! ;-P
