Eleven days until Babylon Five fifth season is released. Thirteen days until I have it in my hot little hands. Of these small things, the highlights of my life are made.
Got a picture of the Grey Menace peering in under the bedroom door this morning. It was far easier than I thought it would be. Especially since I hit her with a third of a glass of water this morning. The Cat Alarm went off ten minutes before my alarm clock. I dragged myself out of bed, grabbed my robe, and opened the door of the bedroom so I could go downstairs and slop the hogs. The Grey Menace immediately attempted to sneak into the room. I managed to grab her in a very unapproved-by-veterinarians manner and tossed her out the door. She immediately turned around and started a second attempt to get back in. I was carrying a glass of stale water that I'd had by the bed, and in exasperation threw the contents at her. She immediately took refuge in the bathroom next to where she'd been hit, and then stuck her head out, looking hurt and perplexed. I refused to apologize. She's got to learn that I do not have patience at six in the bloody a.m., and this was a kinder way to teach her than some I could think of.
Anyhow, I got the picture before any of this transpired. I doubt she'll be so trusting as to leave her nose under the door for the next few days, until short-term memory fades. Grey Menace has no long-term memory that we've ever been able to locate.
I finally got my certificate for the 24 hours of continuing education I did in North Carolina before Christmas. I have to say, those University of North Carolina people give a new meaning to "laid back".
It's supposed to rain all weekend, but I'm still looking forward to the weekend in spite of that. I'm going to see The Company tomorrow with a good friend and the Socialist at my favorite movie theater. My arm is doing pretty good at the moment, though Adonis today did confirm that I've got some measurable weakness in it, especially in the triceps. And the Socialist promised to make dinner either tonight or tomorrow, and promised in addition that he won't be making Indian cuisine. It doesn't get better than that. Except if it were to happen with a warm sun shining.
