From all indications, though, we've caught this *very* early. Dr. Fell spelled out many of the various options for treatment that are possible, but until we're sure this hasn't gotten into the blood or solid organs it's too early to start on any treatment. If I am indeed staged at IA (the earliest form of the disease) then it's entirely possible that we'll just go with an application of some heavy duty topical steroids or with a retinoid.
Apparently I've got a rare form of a rare cancer. My darling little abnormal lymphocytes are apparently specifically attracted to hair follicles. There's an interesting little review at Medscape called Follicular Mycosis Fungoides: Variability of a Rare Entity. I've noticed that I'm starting to get hits on my diary for people searching for information on the disease, so I'll continue to link to solid information when I find it.
I'm going to take a chance and open up my diary to unregistered as well as registered commentators, in case any of the random visitors passing through have any pertinent information to share. Since I've had trouble with this before though, I am prepared to shut down the ability to make unregistered comments at the first sign of trouble.
