Saw the nice hand doctor today, who confirmed what I already knew: it's the knife for me. Surgery is scheduled for October 20th. It'll be followed by a period of therapy, but Dr. Digits says that most of the time surgery is totally successful. It's been a while since I've gotten to add a neat scar to my collection, the last one being the Warrior Princess's bite-of-doom a year or two ago (interesting - I can't remember exactly when it was that she nailed me now).

Somebody do me a favor and get the "Kick Me" sign off my back please?

    Gee whiz. I'm really sorry. I'm going to have to have carpal tunnel surgery myself in the next couple of years. First one side and then the other. :-( I really hate hospitals and surgeries. It always seems to take a lot longer for me to get out than they say it will, too.

    Surgery isn't something that anyone looks forward to but if it can provide some relief from your pain I guess it's worth it.

    Speaking of neat scars, R and I were just discussing one of his the other day. Camilla Tha Cat took exception to being given a bath after we brought her home in ummmmm 1991 so she bit through Ray's thumb, nail and all. He still has a lovely scar to prove it. Thank goodness her aim was off and she didn't hit bone.
