Thanks to all for yesterday's comments. I can't justify my discomfort with going to the dentist, because I know it is totally unjustifiable. Unfortunately, the fear resides on a level in me that doesn't apparently listen to reason. I'll probably call back again this afternoon, but I have to work my way back up to doing it.
Maybe I'll call tomorrow instead.
I went home last night to another pile of undone dishes. I couldn't face it, so I instead offered to pay for dinner out. We ended up hitting an Indian restaurant the Professor has recently taken a liking to. Said Indian restaurant was conveniently close to a Borders bookstore, and so I conned him into stopping off there on the way home where I picked up a copy of Ursula Le Guin's newest addition to the Earthsea series, "The Other Wind". (I also got a collection of Rod Serling short stories from the Twilight Zone and the 2002 Edward Gorey desk calendar **yay!!**). We then went home, and I curled up with my new book for an hour before going to sleep. The dishes are still in the kitchen, but I can put off getting angry about that for another few hours until I have to go home and confront them tonight. Who knows ... a miracle may have occurred and they may actually have been cleaned by then.
Yeah, right.
