This morning's presentation went beautifully, better than I ever expected. The kids in this rotation were involved, the words all came off my tongue the right way, and I know I got all the right points across. I talked for two hours non-stop before lunch, which was the time allotted for me, but I was only able to cover the first of the two topics I'd been asked to go over. The course instructor bought me lunch and then asked me to come back and do the second part of my presentation after lunch. I took another hour and a half going over the barest of basics of animal welfare and humane animal handling.

This is the eighth or ninth time I've given the HACCP talk, although it was the first time with this new PowerPoint. The instructor told me afterwards that it was the best presentation I'd done yet. He was also well pleased with the animal handling component of the presentation, and plans to incorporate it in future seminars. He's already asked me to come back and do this again.

Now if I could only get paid for this.

Unfortunately, while I was at my best the poor little Prius was ailing. There is something very wrong with the brakes (no, NOT related to that whole recall thing, which doesn't affect my year's model). I fear that the parking brake is somehow partially stuck on, or is rubbing against something. The car was due for inspection anyhow, so I called the repair shop from the college and arranged to drop it off there immediately after the presentation. I'm just praying whatever it is isn't expensive to fix.
