The window to my computer room faces south. I don't get a direct look at the sunrise, but I see the sky changing as the day gets underway. There's a squirrel making rounds on the rooftop across the parking lot, and a few crows that make some sort of traditional permimeter security flight only feet over my window this time each day. I can't see them, but I can hear the blue jays starting up for another day full of bickering somewhere close-by. Kitten hears them too, and is leaving smudge marks on the window looking for them.
Speaking of Kitten, I found my new Savings Card from the local supermarket on the stairs this morning when I went down to slop the hogs. She must have stolen it from the kitchen counter and dumped it on the stairway when she was bored with it. It now has little kitten punctures all over it. I wonder what Mr. Giant Grocer will say next time I present that for my Super Savings.
My two sisters visited me yesterday afternoon. It seemed a strange, strained visit, but perhaps that's just me. It seems that the only real thing we have in common to discuss right now is my illness. Don't get me wrong. I seldom tire of talking about myself. But right now even I'm beginning to bore me. They did seem to like the new apartment though, and I was glad they'd made the effort to stop by.
Today I plan to drag the Socialist back to the furniture shop to look at the tables I liked. I also plan to get a lemon water ice. I'm craving lemon water ice right now.
Unless they have tangerine. Tangerine is far superior to lemon.
