After I said that I didn’t want to go downstairs to visit with my neighbors and friends today or I would say something to them that wasn’t nice, JApparently Jackie looked into the situation that Marie mentioned to Jackie yesterday, and she found out that everyone stopped what they were working on for a minute to put their headphones in their ears to ignore Marie and Kayla getting loud. Oh my goodness gracious, I was so tired from dialysis that I didn‘t observe what Marie saw.
Marie H
Don’t get me wrong, I love Marie very much as a mother and daughter relationship as if I had her and her twin brother, I would have been a high school student. She is a year younger than my half sister Kelsey. She is a big help to me and Jackie when my caregivers are running a little slow than usual. Yesterday, Jackie had to get her cat from the vet and back home from tests before heading my way. So, Marie loves to help out. I am grateful for Marie and her intensiveness in her life that her family instilled in her while growing up. Anyway, with all that said, I find some people not understanding Marie and her sister Kayla very well. I can see where others will get annoyed and short with Marie and Kayla, but when someone doesn’t understand a disability, I get annoyed and frustrated.
So Today
I did not want to go downstairs to see and visit with my neighbors and friends and I told Jackie that they do not understand Marie and Kayla’s disability being high functioning autism like three others who are autistic like M & K. Oh my goodness gracious, I think Jackie understood what I was saying because I have a dad who doesn’t understand my CP or how I use my brain most of the time. I get frustrated with my dad because for 55 years he gets frustrated with me. Ugh!
Marie can be a teller of tall tales so I take her stories with a grain of salt and I just believe a part of her story. You have to be careful with the neighbors in a building like Garden Court. Where I came from before getting an apartment at Garden Court, I lived at Teamster Manor that became Burbank Plaza in the 13 years I lived there before moving to GC in 2020. Garden Court is a seven story building with 128 apartments is a community in itself like Burbank Plaza. There are a different walks of life in a building like this. It’s a neighborhood of its own.p
