July 30-A Day of Fun for Tuesday

Today’s Big Day of Fun!

Ok, with Jackie back from Michigan, we: Deb, Jackie, and I went to Shopko Optical, Arby’s, and to Movies 16 to see two movies on $10 movies and popcorn on Tuesdays. We decided to see Twisters and The Fabulous Four starring Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon, and a couple of other actresses I did not know well. I did not recognize Susan Sarandon at first … not until she took her glasses off in the movie.

Shopko Optical & Target

We: Deb, Jackie, and I went to the bus depot from Garden Court on foot. We did not want to get on West Court and transfer to Milton Avenue bus route. We did not want the hassle. Walking to the bus depot proved to be a good jaunt anyway. With the weather being sunny, I want to admit that the heat was not fun being under the sun, though. It was not even breezy today. The heat was a scorching heat. Getting a small breeze driving my power chair was not happening today, so when we reached shady spots for a few seconds was a good thing. Water was not that far from my reach during my drive about town today.

Well, anyway, we get to Shopko Optical and both pair of glasses were there. The glasses were put on my face and adjusted to fit properly because sometimes glasses get funky sitting on my face, and sometimes, unfortunately, they end up crooked and uncomfortable. Having worn glasses most of my life from 18 months to through the 8th grade, then didn’t have to wear glasses for four years. In my senior year, I began wearing glasses again because I developed cataracts due to having to take medication for my kidney transplant and had implants put in place in 2001 and 2007. Got dďccmy vision back, I have been wearing glasses day and night now. Yes, I sleep with my glasses on.

Anyway, after we picked up my glasses, we went into target to get candy for the movies we were going to see today. We chose Twisters and The Fabulous Four. I wanted to see Bette Midler. She is one of my favorite actresses. I didn’t even recognize Susan Sarandon at first, and she is one of favorites as well. The movie Twisters was a great movie as well.

Arby’s

We had lunch at Arby’s today, then we walked to the Movie 16 movie theater. With the heat, it was not bad and with my power chair, I did get a little breeze. Deb was not wrong about the weather being muggier this week. Uugghh!! Yuck, but manageable. Anyway, at Arby’s I ordered a roast beef sandwich with cheese and curly fries. App,,

Afternoon at the Movies

I found both movies pretty good. I loved them. Twisters was mind gripping and nail-biting type of movie as we watched it. Then The Fabulous Four was funny and worth seeing the movie and I would say it is a must see if you like Bette Midler like I do. My mom is not a Bette Midler fan like me, but did enjoy Hocus Pocus.

A Great Day

I do have to admit that my day was perfect for a Tuesday. Getting out for the day and riding the bus was not horrible this time. Okay, horrible is the wrong word actually. My rides on the bus most recent have been a little bumpy or too many bumps my bottom did not like much, lol. Even the turns were kind of rough. I have learned that closing my eyes for the turns does not always work for me. Today’s bus rides were pretty smooth except when the driver got to an area had a circle and the feeling is kind of scary. I feel like I am riding a roller coaster tipping one way and back again. I still survived the ride and my long day.

Pooped Out Woman!

I did not get home until almost 6 PM. It was a long, productive day from 8 AM to 6 PM. Being home now and resting. I am one pooped out 54 year old woman. I am going to say good night now and come back another day. Tomorrow is Wednesday and considered ‘hump day’ as silly as it may seem these days. Good night dear friends … YAWN…
