Dialysis Day
Wed Jul 19 2023

Dialysis went well today. The machine liked my catheter and did not alarm me because the lines were problematic. For some reason, the device is getting air bubbles, and the alarm goes off. The other day, Monday, I was moved to chair #8 to be dialyzed because the machine by chair #2 was so picky or problematic. My catheter is exemplary. The machines are brand new and are Fresenius, whereas the techs and nurses have used Gambro dialysis machines. Please do not get me wrong, and I like the new machines. I do not care for the device being sensitive. The alarms are annoying and loud. Despite my opinion being mixed, I am glad that my thoughts are what they are today.

Now that the new clinic is up and running, I can say that it is better regarding privacy. Patients now sit in a cubicle. With twelve chairs and three shifts at the old clinic, twenty-two chairs in the new clinic make the dialysis shifts to two changes. Like me, patients have moved to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after having a long stint on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I only need to get used to the time from 11:45 AM to 2:30 PM. I'm not too fond of it. My afternoon is shot by the time I get home from dialysis now that lunch is my supper-time meal after eating. I have breakfast and supper now. I bring snacks to dialysis, but it does not suppress my appetite between 12 PM to 3 PM.

Although I was moved from chair #2 to chair #8 on Monday because of machine problems, my new space is acceptable and excellent. Today, finding JM was unhappy that my keys were left behind, she went to get them. To her, it was unacceptable that my keys were left behind by accident. They were not by me like they usually are when I have them. When out of sight, out of mind is excellent philosophy on that fact. It was not entirely the technicians or nurses at fault. It was my fault, too. JM gave her two cents of thought to the receptionist. She was unhappy with the dialysis team. She got to the building and told me she chewed out the receptionist, and she kept from swearing, whereas JP would have sworn up and down. JM said that JP does not filter her opinion of wrongdoing.
