People grow plants in their pots, tomatoes in their garden, today I’m growing a cynic in me. Yeah, why not – cynicism is the highest level of skepticism, which in its turn is the first step on the road to philosophy. (said Denis Diderot and I believed him because he’s French and he made me laugh at his gender-diminishing statement of: “There is a bit of testicle at the bottom of our most sublime feelings and our purest tenderness”)
If I wouldn’t be skeptical, I would end up being naïve. And in real world one has to see clear to survive. Reality is that state of things as they actually exist, so might as well take off those rosy glasses and take a proper look…
Hey, hear that buzz humans make fooling themselves they can change their own destiny?..In every little thing we do there is that fool’s hope by doing we can change the way…be it elections of The Leader or personal choices we make on a daily basis…No matter how much you can sweat, everything goes its own way regardless…might as well accept world as it is and swim with the flow…random splashes of noble indignation won’t turn the river backward, you’ll only waste your energy supply…
I notice how people are poisoned with envy…in general terms…it does show particular in the latest world-shattering news – both financial crunch and American elections.
There is that chance given to you to finally THINK what is it that you want to achieve and what are the means of achieving this. Yet what are we concerned with? Which one of the candidates has his dirty laundry "dirtier"…I’ve been watching American presidential campaign and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth…I still can’t get it: there is a desperate need to pull the country out of misery. There are world-wide economical rules on how to do that. They are not rules set up by people; they are like rules in maths - formulas that work proven. You have your situation; there is a common sense solution on how to solve it, yet instead you discuss how the suggested by each candidate changes will affect your nearest environment. Can’t you see that this is about economical health of your country, not of your uncle’s private business? If the country goes down from the auction, there will be no chance for those to survive anyway…so far in what I’ve observed; I haven’t heard a single concern about the country as a whole. So much for infamous patriotism, huh…mind you, I haven’t find any valuable solutions offered either, guess, we all just have to watch in awe how the great nation will slowly cave in into a tribe of self-observed individuals…
The credit crunch is no less a comedy show to watch, except that it does hit your closer to home, as you have to live with the consequences of the actions of those who couldn’t do their job. Should the same happen on the factory floor, they would get fired. What surprises me is not that the ones who is responsible are still enjoying all they still have…but it is amusing how easy the public opinion has been switched over to discussing their income and circle of mates in the Corridors of Power instead of how to ensure the situation will never repeat itself…
Human mind are no longer a tool for thinking. It has become a consumer’s instrument for filtering the food for thoughts into digestive gooey mass of “whatever-is-not-in-my-back-yard- I-don’t-care” processed product. You have to be cynical to save your sanity in this world…and you have to close your heart from empathetic emotions, for those backfire at you just when you discover yourself on the receiving end…Words no longer have power to change anything. And actions are no longer “in fashion”…and my only consolation is that "Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist"…*mental note to herself: get the fucking bastard out!”
