Kazakh Tales. Blue Bay.
Sat Jul 29 2006

So I’ve said already that we’ve spend three days in Bukhtarma, taking a well needed break mainly from relatives and some of the town activities. We stayed in a hotel in a resort called Blue Bay.

The view from our hotel room

When I was at school, Blue Bay camps were very popular choice for getting rid of your kids during long school holidays. Of course nowadays it is a commercial establishment, fully dedicated to serve tourists, although not exactly to the standards yet. But for our three days it was a heaven’s den. We didn’t stay in a room much anyway. We would venture somewhere for half-day, returned to the base for a meal, then spend the rest of a day being cooked under the friendly sun or making a pathetic attempts to plunge into the deceptive waters of the Bukhtarma Sea. I can confirm now it was not exactly a swimming pool. And the temperature of the sea hasn’t been particular warm and comfortable enough to spend more then few min in the water. But of course it was still fantastic, just to sit on a gigantic rock, watch the sea, and listen to the whisper of the waves…totally meditative experience…

Sea...rocks...sails...

There were plenty of mountains and hills around. Too many to consider climbing them all. We’ve challenged ourselves to just one. It is difficult to say what exactly provoked the Wow: lonesome pines that scattered around the stones sometimes growing straight from the cracks in them. Or rings of modest slender birches…or the breathtaking view of the bay from the top of the mountain…

View on Blue Bay from the top of the mountain

to me personally Blue Bay always associated with the stones…rocky woods comes to mind as well…but the picture for the postcard would always be – a lonely tree standing on the top of a granite rock…fragile yet strong the same as the rock it was standing on…something of Bob Seger…holding firmly to what they thought was right…like a rock…

Like A Rock...

There’ve been no particular exciting adventures in those three days. It was just the time spent perfectly. In addition to climbing the rocks, we have also tried out our skills on catamaran (the “thing” that floats on two hollow buoys with a pair of wheels and a steering thing attached to it) quite amusing exercise, especially, if you have disagreements with your pedal-partner about the direction your catamaran should be treadle to. We also took a pleasant tour on a motor boat around the sea. But what to tell about it, anyway? I’m sure everyone can easily imagine how catamaran and motor boat might look like. I just wanted to say that these three days in a Blue Bay Paradise have been magical in all respects :-)

blue bay is a paradise it must have been spectacular to return there and have memories of your school camps

your photoshoots are so artsy beautiful russian svetlana
I agree that the evergreen trees growing from the rocks is a beautiful metaphor
I find your metaphor enriching and it also means to me that growth can fluorish through tough obstacles and that life will be everlasting that the spirit of life will always conquer

it is a humorous coincidence in the center of my city by the square some extravagant artist decided to transport rose coloured rock from quebec well twenty meters high during the art festival and at the top grows this little shrub the artist ofcourse is working with our metaphor
the artist was critically attacked for drawing 2 million dollars from city funds to erect this structure but every time I walk by it I have to smile and relate to the metaphor and now it will take on new meaning I will not only think of my experience in the rocky mountains but also of your paradise blue bay

I hope you return many times in your lifetime!!!!!!!
