Stones, Fruits And Music
Mon Aug 22 2005

Not the most original title, but this is exactly what I'm going to write about...

The Stone Heart Revisited
My Little Lucky Charm…a cheap piece of semi-precious gem picked up in a local store…it took only moment to cast my eye on it and to know immediately that I cannot leave the shop without it. And if you think it is unhealthy obsession with the stone, you probably right…but just take a look at it and you will see where this madness comes from ;-) :

Summer Fruits
Still can be found on a farm. Although of course the autumn ones started to get ripen too. It might be something very unremarkable – a local farm where you can go and Pick-Your-Own fruits or berries, but it all depends on how one sees the opportunity, right? For some a trip to local farm can be just a way of getting bargain and getting kids outdoors, get them stuffed up to their ears with all those vitamins “off the branch”…or it could be a way of getting away from the household chores and for a couple of hours be amused, really amused to see the strawberries not in supermarket punnets, but in rows of bright drops of sweetness sprinkled across the endless field, to be lost in the raspberry thickets, where you’d think of a berry and – there she is, right from the bush and into your mouth…mmmmmm…mouth-watering…the ever sweet fruits of the nature…and the thing about being on a farm is – you “eat till you drop”, until you can take no more…then you step to the next side and eat more then you ever imagine you can handle…how can one even look at supermarket shelves after such experience?! After we’ve checked out what’s Q-Gardens (the local farm) can offer, there were that “suspicious” red traces left around one’s lips and the picture of more strawberries or raspberries or prunes utters a groan “oh, no more”! Maybe it’s a good thing that fruits do not ripe in winter…

Music Comes When You Ready To Listen
Yes, that’s what I believe. I do have very assorted taste in music – in my playlist you could find some really weird masterpieces living together with the classical ones. What I’ve found about myself – you hear the music in its time of first release, of its Top Ten moments, of conquering hit parades, yet you never really like it…until you ready to like. And then suddenly the hackneyed song would touch the right strings and you’ll let it play in your heart…better late then never, huh? I’m always too late for the songs…I just cannot go with the raving crowd after the hit, that being played by all radio stations…popularity makes it unattractive to me or maybe I’m just too slow ;-)…it seems that the older I get, the wider is the gap between the age of me and that of the music that I like…I’m rediscovering for myself the old tunes that set everybody’s teeth on edge…The music that is playing on the strings of my heart todays is Cat Stevens’s...it is only now that the lyrics reaches to the core…

I listen to the wind
to the wind of my soul
Where I'll end up well I think,
only God really knows
I've sat upon the setting sun
But never, never never never
I never wanted water once
No, never, never, never
I listen to my words but
they fall far below
I let my music take me where
my heart wants to go
I swam upon the devil's lake
But never, never never never
I'll never make the same mistake
No, never, never, never

you know, you are one of the best photographers i see on DD. your pics always look like its taken off from a magazine. you have a good eye for angles. and that stone with a rose is a winner.

my love for music has always been confined to the conventional sphere of oldies, pop and jazz. must be because of my exposure to it since my childhood. i could never ever like heavy metals even if i try my best to appreciate it. i dunno why.

    And with the rose.. Exquisite

The fruit market.. how fun is that?
We have a farmers market here every saturday morning until Oct.. it is also very fun.. all kinds of people go set up there fruit, herbs, veggies, and crafts and sell, barter, trade, etc
I love it.. and have only been once so far this year, but plan to sell some of my chili peppers there. since my plants are really thriving.. the others at dad's are doing great! My tomatoes here have some sickness> ;(
I swear, when it rains.. and all that
    hugs to you

what a beautiful photograph of this stone and rose hey it is not only the visual that has harmony but we find that the sounds reverberate through the words stone and rose

I often adopt crosses with light capturing capabilities as good luck charms and they are never expensive as long as they can play with light

I agree Lana you are a beautiful photographer
