Roses.

Roses…captured me within their unspoken beauty…so perfect…so fragile…so different. Two roses…

One – strong, rich, scented, full with life, strongly draws to touch her, to exhale her magic, so powerful – the one that grows outside my house...

Another one – I saw her in a shop yesterday and just couldn’t walk away…I took her and her five friends home…Call it fetishism, but I couldn’t take my eyes of her…of her transparent petals…white with the bright red edges…as if she wounded, but proudly stands, blinding me with her beauty...so gentle and so full of majestic pride…

OK...call me crazy, but I couldn't get away from those roses today...I won't litter this page with any more pictures. But if you like roses and poetry, you can try this

I believe pride to be a reflection of an idea we have of our "perfect self". The things we tend to take pride in are things about ourselves that we admire, which in and of itself is not a bad thing. Usually, the problem with pride is that we are not "perfect". We fall short of our ideals constantly, and if we cling to our pride too much, we end up deluding ourselves as to how we REALLY ae, as opposed to how we WANT to be. Thast why it hurts when our pride is damaged...a little bit of that "ideal" image is chipped away at.

I couldn't answer your quiz; there wasn't an answer that suits me.

I think, when one's pride is hurt, one should step back, think about what was said or done, and examine "why am I hurt?"

Some people are just plain nasty, so ignore them. Some people are unthinking, that's their problem. Some people sincerely want to help; heed them.

    So WHY am I hurt?

One needs to do a self-examination from time to time.

Is pride good or bad? Depends on the circumstances. Do I take pride in taking on a job and doing it well? Or do I brag about how well I can take on a job and do it well.

    Thoughtful entry.

    Shalom

While checking on Mom and Dad today my dad said. go look at roses. He has prize winning roses. he has about 20 different varieties and colors. All different in size, scent, and color.. some multi-colored. In the center looks like a hot reddish pink .. fading out to white on edge.. hugs blooms. Some not as large.. yellow, white, red, pinks, blue.. Yes, he has one that is bluish. Very different.
They are loving this cooler, wetter weather. And I've never seen them look so beautiful.. actually they look this way every year. But one forgets just how exquisite they are until visiting again
I'll have to get some pix and post them in my diary
    that will be nice
about pride.. it is one of the 7 deadly sins ... is it not??
But, one does have to have pride.. I think.. i wouldn't like not to have my pride.. I mean. gee.. I am proud. but not puffed up .. ya know? there is a difference.. right?
    Hugs to you tonight
