I am trying not to think about life too much nowadays…I remember I used to be curious of why life is as it is, of the reasons and strings with which the life operates…and now it seems I’ve lost this interest…in fact, I don’t even know what are my interests anymore…I know what I like to do and most importantly I know what I don’t like. But not what keeps me excited, what inspires to get up and go somewhere, do something…In the mess of all the changes I forgot what was it that used to keep me going.
They say: force yourself to do something, get engaged in the lot of activities, old and new, fill your day with distracting things, find the places outside your space where you feel comfortable and spent more time in there…not a laziness, but disinclination, not disinterest, but absent-mindedness…forcing is the right word, and I am making an effort. This week was interesting…few tricks for a treat, few unavoidable tasks –demands of reality, few recreational activities, not planned, but surprisingly pleasant.
I do like to dance, but dance for me was always about giving in to the music and not about strategy of the moves and the dance floor never appeal to me other then occasional discos, mainly at corporative functions. And it is still unclear to me why I’ve been tempted by the promotional leaflets of the local dance club. They were promoting ceroc – modern jive. Perhaps, their advertising campaign has been too good since even I fell for it. so I’ve tried. And surprisingly I liked it. Liked it enough to consider next time. Good for me, I suppose. The other entertainment I had a chance to enjoy this week was the concert of Juan Martin – a Spanish flamenco guitarist. I can say one thing: my perception of what the guitar can do changed forever after this evening.
The daily routine has been running as it should, I finally got the car ready for selling, replaced the locks on the front door and did all the other voluntarily-compulsory stuff around the house. While clearing out the garage, it had come to my attention that there are 5 keys on the key ring along with the garage keys…none of them fits any of the doors around the house, garden or garage. It took me few moments to reflect on the fact and then I took the useless keys off the ring. What was interesting is that we always had them there, but never it occurred to me to take them off. And I’ve been thinking that in life it could be just the same: we might be keeping unclaimed keys from the doors never found for the reasons we cannot explain. And sometimes all that’s needed is – to throw them away and our key ring will become lighter in weight…where there is no door to open, you don't have to keep a key you will never use...
