It’s an autumn equinox day today. And that means

Technically, in the northern half of the world autumn begins on the equinox day in September. For each of us it will begin differently. Students will start school, farmers will finish harvesting, we’ll change our clocks for the winter time and take a deep breath in readiness for the winter…I sense the beginning of autumn from that unspoken transparency of the air, something hardly tangible, when you feel there is something, but not quite grasp it yet…somehow for me last summer days filled with dust and heat and heaviness of the fatigue from the ever festive times. For me the autumn begins with the first morning when the foggy blanket covers up the meadow…with the colours of the nature loosing its brightness in getting ready for the fantastic last costume ball of red&gold…and with the trees begin to strip in the later days…how interesting that we do just the opposite to the nature – as leaves fall and trees shed their clothes for a season, we put on thick warm coats and wrap into the scarves and hats…We can finally stop for a moment to look around, to take a deep breathe and to ascertain what’s left in our basket from the Fun Fun Fun of summer days. A lot of ppl around me feel sad with the autumn approaching…strangely for me it is more of a Grand Performance of the Nature’s orchestra…The Closing Season performance, when the artists will do the most they ever can to mark this day. Have you ever noticed how in theatre season the first and the last performance are always the best? And when the first bustle of excited crowd fills the streets for the Christmas shopping, my autumn will be finished for me…
When does Autumn begin for you? And when does it end?
