Harvest Moon And Dental Drill
Tue Sep 20 2005

OK, so today was Tuesday and it was a relatively eventless day. In terms of happenstances. (thanks, Chaya, for the gift of brilliant word, I just love it!) I haven’t been bewitched today, nor have I met ware-wolves, and even the police stopping me on my way back home was just a census project and all they wanted to know is why am I driving…I mean – the purpose i.e. from work, or pleasure or else…so it was an uneventful day indeed…well, not considering my morning visit to the dentist’s. Which in effect could well be taken as extraordinary circumstance for its explicitly rare occurrence in my life. Yes, I can admit with shame that Misstick is dental-phobic chicken, chicken, chicken, and tends to put off  time untill it’s really The Time…Though today it wasn’t for treatment, but just for check up and consultation on what’s need to be done to keep me capable of chewing things…The dentist was absolutely adorable – a very pleasant gentleman, Mr Kindness itself, which didn’t prevent him quote an exorbitant price for my treatment-to-be. Can you imagine – it’s equal to the annual insurance payment for my car?! Or to ten pairs of the Clark’s shoes?! Or to one hundred McDonald’s Happy Meals?! Or to the price of one ticket to New York?! And so I’m left to make a choice if I want any of those or just my teeth to be there for me when I need them in an hour of hunger…And it wasn’t even because a lot of hard dentist’s work required, but just because it is generally too expensive to enjoy healthcare in this country. Well, anyway, guess, no McDonalds for me for a year then…(oh boy, this is even worse – this is going to be no to the 1111.1 kinder surprise chocolate eggs too! [ ~ sobs violently])

I’ve been considering accepting the offer from the comments to blame it all on Full Moon. I’ve looked up Full Moon in Google (not that I don’t trust you, but rather I was curious to what else can I blame on it) I didn’t know that Full Moons have got names?! Apparently, this month’s Full Moon is – Full Harvest Moon…(honestly, I didn’t know that)
So there she is – My Harvest Full Moon, in all her beauty-almost-gone (well, she was full once, last Saturday, and now she is fading away, the irony of a beauty)

full harvest moon as on 20 september 2005

And while taking pictures of a moon tonight, I couldn’t help but hear this anguish Bono’s song playing silently into my ears :

Tonight the moon is a mirrorball
Light flickers from across the hall
Who'll catch the star when he falls…

Awwwww…feeling sheepishly romantic now…BLAME IT ON FULL MOON!

Oh, my dear Misstick! Talk about DentalPhobia! You got me nailed! Can't remember *when* but I remember *why* I last went to the dentist.

Had a terrible experience with a dentist when I was a child, and even though I realize how many years between then and now, I still tense up at the very word "dentist." SQUAWK!

The full moon. Ah, yes! The Moon is my ruling planet. She's a beauty in the heavens.

So, Zara, forego the MickeyD's, enjoy the handsome dentist. At least you get something nice to look at while you're experiencing the tortures of the profession.

    My sympathies.
