There are normal people who return from holidays rested and relaxed. I normally come home tired if not exhausted. There are normal people who bring home tons of souvenirs and nice even tan. I bring stones and things I found rather then bought and my tan is patchy in a way that if I’d take off my clothes, you can tell what I’ve been wearing. There are normal people who go on a package tour and satisfied with the mass-touristy activities. I always plan my own itinerary, book my own hotels and walk in my own places and pace.
Why can’t I just be normal?!
So I’m back from vacation and back to the office and now I have about thousands e-mails to go through before actually start to do my job. These holidays were not like any of my other vacations. I judge by how keen I am to return home. There are few places I’ve been when I shed a tear leaving them. This time I couldn’t wait to get home. This doesn’t mean, of course, that I didn’t like where I’ve been. Just means that some places you see once and it’s enough. Each and every place deserves to be appreciated. And if you go open minded and without high expectations, you will find little treasures in any even the most uninspiring place.
So, once I’ll get up to speed with my work, I will start to recall moments of my trips worth recalling. For the time being, just wanted to say:
it’s good to be home...
