Thirst
Wed Jun 01 2005

Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need, a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing. – [Jerome K. Jerome]

I’ve been thinking…whatever we want in our life…as long as we keep wanting it, we’ve got a purpose. A purpose to live for…would it be just the bottle of water in our trip over desert or would it be a glass of wine in a rendezvous for two, in candlelight…the thirst is still the same…the thirst that makes our heart beat stronger from the excitement of getting there, that makes us jump higher, run faster, swim deeper…

You can’t save in advance the correct amount of necessary things…we obtain them as we go along…some will grab more then they need when they’ve got a chance…put them in a closet till the better times…beware of things getting senile in the closets…spend what you’ve got now or you will lose it…

I think this is exactly what I’m going to do…

[PS oh, and I’m not talking about money :-p]

    A thoughtful entry here.

Our lives are just too full of trivia. And I, for one, take on responsibilities that aren't mine. I hope I'm being a good, helpful friend, but often it turns out I've created a dependent creature. Not good for her/him, not good for me.

I think I need to divest myself of a few things.

    Shalom

This comment makes me think of holding a pose in yoga.. the feeling that .. release is coming. I don't have to hold this posture forever. and it will feel so good when I release.. yeah that is a wonderful thing. just the knowing something else better is just around the bend
