Mon May 11 2026 - My Day Today
My Day Today

I will NOT argue about today being a good day all day, from morning to night. Yes, it is late now, but I am in need of writing right now after 10 PM. I had dialysis this morning from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM. Jackie had my hair appointment cancelled at 12 noon because we started dialysis at 8:45 AM for 3 hours, then we went for a walk, and decided to call the beauty school to see if we could still come get my haircut done at 1:30 PM. It was a ‘go’ and we hopped on the bus in front of Garden Court and the bus driver dropped us off rich in front of the beauty school, and we got there and one of the female students began cutting my hair when another student with excellent cutting hair technique where the girl has not perfected yet began cutting the back and sides of hair, and with each snip and shaver technique, this gentleman cut my hair, leaving the top of my head of hair for the girl to finish up with some snips and gel, making my hair the shortest it ever has been in a very long time. I was excited to see what my hair looked like at the end of the session, and the excitement was causing me to get a little antsy, lol. I couldn’t wait any longer and it was finally done. I love my new hairstyle or the lack of hair I do have left, LOL! Anyway, getting my haircut today was the highlight of my day and I was happy and excited to get a new haircut after all this afternoon.

Before I continue onward about my haircut, I have to admit that having long hair with color in my 30’s made its last debut at age 38 because when I was younger, my hair was no longer long after age 12. With my ability to brush my own hair has become difficult in 2022, I have been enjoying tshort hair more and did have long hair in my 30’s when I could do things with both hands and arms then. Today, my hands and arms do not work like they used to because my cerebral palsy changed due to Covid 19 and a hematoma on the right side inside by my right hip that made my legs stop walking for over a year. This happened because nurses and technicians were trying to roll me over from me rolling the wrong way, and all of a sudden I heard a rip inside by my right hip, and I had some pain. I ended up with a hematoma and my legs stopped working for over a year. It was one change in my life I could not accept for several months until one evening lying in bed and said to myself that I have had enough time NOT ACCEPTING the fact I will never walk great distances again but I decided to get back to walking again, but in my own time and NOT be pushed by physical therapy workers working with me. Today, I use a four-wheeled walker to get around my apartment, and a power chair for distance getting around the city, and obeying the laws of stop, caution, go lights, stop signs, and the rules of the road as far as the city bus is concerned. I enjoy getting out and about, riding the city bus from downtown to uptown, and back again. Today was especially a good afternoon after dialysis treatment and getting out for the afternoon. I loved my day today!
