My Wednesday in a Nutshell Today

IRIS/ADRC Wisconsin & Garden Court Living…

As a woman at the age of 55 now and disabled, I am in a government funded program called IRIS, I had a meeting with someone who works for ADRC Wisconsin, and this morning at 11 AM, my screener Phil Beaumont came today to talk about the program I will have been enrolled in, what the screen tells my IRIS consultant and the screeners know what I need help with and why. I have been in IRIS from the very beginning, for the past 5 years or longer now I believe, and the program is self explanatory and I have shared the information as a website. This program gives me the ability to be my own boss to those I want to work for me as my caregivers. This is where Jackie, Deb H, and Julie M come in. They can work with/for me and get paid by the funds I am allotted from the IRIS program in SHC, PC, and CC, and every year, if the money is in my funding, can give my workers a raise when the government changes the amount of the raise for my workers. The on,y part I run into with my caregivers is the apps we use to log in and out can be very sluggish or don’t work real good some days making signing in and out difficult at times, and where my caregivers can get their paychecks from have issues with my workers time sheets are not accurate or need to be fixed and resubmitted. That is a headache for all of us! With my ability with computer apps and the internet, where I live, has issues with the internet working well. Garden Court was built in the 1970’s and it’s now 2025, and the building is indeed in NEED to be upgraded from its upgrade 10 years ago again, but we have property management and management 5 days a week, and maintenance that is slow in replacing items that do not work well anymore and need to be replaced. It took management and maintenance 3 years to replace an air conditioner that quit working properly 3 years ago! Yet, this place is home and I am glad to be here … … for now, anyway. Enough said now, too. Sometimes I find it hard to talk about living in the Garden Court community unfortunately. Enough said.

My Day Today

I will be very honest with you. Although I don’t always have something to be uncomfortable about living I’m the Garden Court community, I do have to admit that I have had a great day. Jackie got here by 9:30 AM and I got dressed for the day after getting my underwear changed from wearing a disposable pair all day and night. I always change my underwear every morning at what I call potty break or getting dressed for the day. Having an appointment at 11 AM this morning, I had a good reason to get out of bed for the day and be in the living room watching tv or to read, then after company left, I can always go back to my bedroom since Jackie has things to do and will be in and out today. Other than caring for me today, she has a couple of appointments for herself that cannot be rescheduled. Her coming and going today after my appointment never bothers me on days we don’t have any plans to go or do anything outside the building even though I wanted to check something out today, and she has discouraged me from checking out this new place called Jack & Jenny’s. I just looked at their website and shared it here, and find it a place I would come to once in a while like my other most favorite bar for some food, which the name has temporarily went blank in my memory, I guess I have some timers, lol. Don’t worry, the name will come back to me shortly. The bar is the Looking Glass! I knew it would come to me by golly.

With Jackie coming and going today, after my 11 AM appointment, I just wanted to get comfortable in my bedroom the rest of the afternoon and evening to watch tv, read, and do some journaling for the day. The cats, Magic (5) and Millie (2) have been well behaved ALL day today. I do not get bored very easily anymore. I enjoy lying around some days, and I don’t dread my hours away from home whrn I go to dialysis for a three hour treatment 3x a week which will turn into 5x a week at 3 hours a day. I have been watching Matlock starring Andy Griffith, Murder, She Wrote, and Chef Masters: Dynamic Duo with Chef Gordon Ramsay and a couple of other food critics I happen to appreciate and a fan of. I get through my marathoning of tv shows and programs on Tubi at this time. Debbie H had the day off and will be returning to work in the morning by 8:15 AM in the morning. I am having a good and fair day today.
