Heading Toward the Hard Stuff I

Visit With My Parents From Milwaukee, Wisconsin Today

I have been looking forward to my parents (dad and his wife) RLK & SGK to visit for a while now because I have not seen my parents for a while now. To be honest very honest here and now, we could not get for Thanksgiving and Christmas last year in 2025 because of Dad’s health issue with the heart. Dad had an heart attack a few years ago that sent him up from Boscobel, Wisconsin to Madison, Wisconsin in a medical helicopter I remember seeing a lot of during my hospital stay as a patient in 1988 on their transplant floor. Another, patient, a 15 year old girl and I were the only two teenagers on the floor in 1988 after our transplants. I remember her very well at the time, but never heard from her after we both left around the same time during our long so-called vacation from high school. My parents visit was nice, but they didn’t spend too long because Dad was getting tired and ready for his afternoon nap. Of course, not really ready for her parents to leave from their visit, Jackie and I walked downstairs (using the elevator down to the first floor) to their nice car they have across the street next to the new bakery and shop that used to be the United Way building where the UCP (United Cerebral Palsy program was when I moved out of the house making it on my own after graduating from high school in 1989.

With my parents visit I learned what is happening to my dad’s heart and to me, listening Intently, and remembering when he had his heart attack a few years ago has me understanding that his time is becoming shorter as the days continue ahead for him, and to be honest with you, I’m somewhat prepared for the end for him, but of course he would be my parent probably first to go if he does not make it to his 85th birthday in 2026. Jackie believes he will make it because the hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he gets his medical care taken care of is a very good hospital like Froedert Hospital where I am going for my next kidney transplant in the future. I hope Jackie is right about my dad because I know the truth about the fact of living in the last days. The end of the world is coming and Jesus’ second coming soon, and that is why we are living in the last days of this world God created for us. Doesn’t that sound amazing? I believe so.
