My Life in Words

At the Clinic Now
Mon Aug 12 2024

At the clinic now. Now I am waiting for a dialysis technician to call my name to take me to my chair after a weigh-in. At dialysis, the patients weigh in and out to record the weight in kilograms — not pounds. I use a converter to know kilograms to pounds and pounds to kilograms until I learn the numbers in time. Anyway, I have been used to this for 30+ years since my transplant and how UW-Hospital & Clinics record a patient’s weight. MercyHealth dialysis unit also records weight in kilograms, too. I learned fast in a day and still can to some point. Waiting for my chair to become available and my on time is 11:45 AM.

Depends how closely accurate you want. There's 2.2 lbs to a kilo (within a few decimal places). So divide by 2, then take off 10% of the result. 100lbs = 50kg - 5kg = 45kg...
