Getting To Know ME Through My Nicknames…

Ksmiley/Kae Smiley

Smiley

LittleKrissi

Kissykins

are my nickname from childhood to the present day of my now 55 years of age. Of course, not in the order of lifespan, but  five nicknames were mine and mine alone at the time these nicknames came about in my life. Each nickname has had its purpose and own however my nickname Smiley was given to many girls by one teacher I met in 9th grade but never had as a teacher. Mr. K was a harmless gentleman’s with a daughter in my class of 1989. His daughter is Kari. A sweet and shy kind of girl.

Kissykins was a nickname I was given when I was younger and loved kissing my mom on the cheek, lol, and the nickname was born. Lol…I shared colds and sicknesses with my mom.

LittleKrissi was a nickname I got from friends of my mom and dad both. Wes and Eileen Story were dear friends we traveled to Florida with in the summer when we, my brother and I were smaller and camped next to each other sharing meals and time together with their kids. Wes and Eileen called me little Krissi for most of my life because I was a small little girl when I was born. I only weighed 3 lbs and 3 ozs when I was born two months premature and was the twin who survived.

Ksmiley/Kae Smiley came in my 30s and 40s and 50s—later in life of course. I decided to say Ksmiley as my nickname because of my first name being with a K for Kristi. Now, Kae Smiley would be my pseudonym’s name if I choose not to use my Kristi M Karnopp when I become an author. I am trying to write my first story about my kidney disease founded in 1987 and the 31 years of the kidney before being back on dialysis for a second time, and the past 6 years being on hemodialysis, and the trials and tribulations I dealt with 3 years ago that changed my attitude a bit from dealing with some changes in my life.
