My Thoughts on Friday the 13th & A Garden Court Update
Ok friends of Dear Diary, I have a question for you. Do you believe in superstition? Here is another one. Are you superstitious? Well, I am not superstitious, nor do I believe in superstitions. My beliefs are in the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Superstitions have been what they are through the years to keep the stories going from storyteller to another storyteller.
Although today is Friday the 13th all day, it is an ordinary day. The weather is warm and sunny, I am at dialysis sitting in chair #19 in pod #5 today. With two hours to go, I am just relaxing and writing and eating my afternoon snack. I am not in the mood to talk much to the workers, but I will say hello and goodbye to my friends. Anyway, I do not believe in superstitions anymore, but I was once scared of them. I have been teased in school about having a locker number 666 one ye.ar. I believe it was my 6th grade year. I was teased I had the Devil’s locker. Even my friends made a joke of it at times, but I was not amused, or I did not like the joke. The kids who teased me about my locker were told to knock it off because they did not truly understand what 666 is all about biblically and I was relieved from the teasing of my locker number being 666 the mark of the beast. Do some research on 666, the mark of the beast. You may be surprised and, again, you may not. Becoming a Seventh Day Adventist in 1999 gave me the understanding of 666 and the mark of the beast at a seminar that changed my belief that the seventh day is Saturday.
As far as superstitions are concerned, I am not a believer. They are stories told through the years even though there was a time a town had thought that there were witches in a day who burned and hung to end their lives. I believe in the truth of this, though. It is a piece of history I have read about throughout the years since I love to read.
When it comes to Friday the 13th, I have admitting that I have seen all the movies starring Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhies and seen all the Halloween movies with Jamie Lee Curtis and the actor who portrayed Michael is James Jude Courtney. I have also seen the Amityville Horror movies. My parents allowed us to watch them, and I do not regret it one bit even though I was 10 years old. I have also seen Cat’s Eye, a Stephen King story that turned into a movie. Do I regret watching stories like horror? No, I do not, but today I am very selective on horror today. So having Friday the 13th a couple of times a year does not bother me at all.
Garden Court Update
Now, when it comes to Garden Court, the update is not good or bad, but bizarre to be honest with you. I have an air conditioner that is NOT working properly, and our complaints are legit, but are not being taken care of or we are told it is not serious enough. Management and maintenance are covering their asses by saying that I am up here with my caregiver Deb when Dan comes up here, but that is not true. They are going into my apartment when I am not home when from the beginning of living here, I stated that no one comes into my apartment without me being home because I have a cat. Now, I have two cats and one of them is skittish, and Magic will also hide from Dan because he does not like him. I understand that maintenance can go into an apartment when I am not home, but management and maintenance KNOW when I leave for dialysis and other appointments because there are cameras at the front and back door. So, no matter the outcome of my A/C, it is not fixed nor is it going to be fixed.
Anyway, Legal Action has a case open regarding Garden Court using my WisPact trust fund as income, and they hiked my rent up from $330 to $413, an $86 difference. Talking to someone about what was happening has caused a little ripple that is going to change the thoughts of the employees soon. The people who are handling my case say they are retaliating big time, and doing things illegally, and there is written rule e that states that they are NOT to consider my WisPact trust fund as income, and Garden Court says they can if they choose to because it is different at each HUD subsidized building, BUT all HUD buildings ARE SUPPOSED to follow HUD rules. Garden Court employees are doing shady things, and they are probably going to find out they are messing with the wrong person. The fight is not yet over. I cannot wait to see if there is going to be a court case.
Living at Garden Court has not been my happiest recently. I do not visit anyone anymore because I am confined in my apartment when my caregivers are not here after dinner, and I am in bed by 5 PM each day, but now the weekend is coming, and dialysis is almost over for the day.
