Dialysis Update
Fri Sep 20 2024

With this being the last dialysis update here in My Life in Words because I created a Dialysis Update diary at Dear Diary. I am looking forward to ehaving more diaries at Dear Diary now that I am a paying customer/patron. I am, to this day, happy to have My Life in Words, a Dream Journal, and more on the way. My cats have a journal, too. Why not, right? Right!

Dialysis went by smoothly, but the weigh-in and weigh-out were challenging. The dialysis team has workers who are willing to help me keep my balance while there are other workers who do not help me keep my balance. It is very frustrating to deal with. With CP, my balance is not steady. The scale wobbles and my balance is already wobbly. I am just mastering the ability to catch myself while holding onto my walker while standing to shift, move my feet when I am beginning to lose my balance. Also, I am working on taking my feet while stepping one foot in front of another without taking a step, stop, and move my other foot. It is true when you lose the ability to walk, you need to learn to walk again. It has been 2 ½ years for me to get transfer from bed to chair and walk from bedroom to bathroom and back, from the living room to the bedroom, and visa versa. It is my business and not those who work at the dialysis center’s concern.

Cerebral palsy (CP) affects a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. The girl does have more than her share of challenges.
