Entry I — Why I Journal and Love Dear Diary So Much

I know I’ve said this more than once or every now and again when I journal for other eyes to see, but sometimes something new pops up in my mind that new people come and go at Dear Diary, too. I am NOT the only diarist out here in the world who deals with the pressures of life, deal with every emotion at once at times, nor am I one of those people who thinks the world is crashing around her because something bad has happened to them. I am ONLY ONE person in this world who deals with crap? Nope. I am not. Thank goodness . On a bad day, however, we, as humans do think this, we may think we are alone in the world suffering with our crap, but we really are not alone. I’ve thought that way more than once in my lifetime. I am human. So, why I journal is because it is easier for me to write than speaking my feelings. In 2001, when I was in college taking some classes, I wanted to see if there was a diary online for me to write and share my life with others or create my own journal somehow with Word or Pages, and up came Dear Diary, and woohoo, Dear Diary on Internet Explorer on the school’s IBM Windows computers. At that time, until 15 years ago, I, too, had a Windows computer in the home. Dear Diary became my home in 2001, thanks to Steve Brown and his friend at the time, before Steve stayed with DD and his friend moved on, DD became my new and now, forever home as long as I can afford the internet in my budget of bills.

Yeah. DD is a special place in the on line world in my opinion. Unique. And I'm glad we have this space to share!
