Finished listening to The Phoenix Crown by Kate Quinn and Janie Chang. A story set during the great San Francisco earthquake and fire. Really enjoyed it. Returned The Fell by Sarah Moss early. It just wasn't grabbing my attention and was difficult to read and remember from one evening to the next.
The rescued peony has bloomed and it is a beautiful pale pink!!
I checked on the swans in the evening and found this painted turtle laying eggs!
No baby swans yesterday. But this morning!! We have 5 cygnets with papa. And...mama is still on the nest! There might be a sixth!

This yellow salsify/goatsbeard is the first I've seen this year.
The morning ground fog was gorgeous.
The baby crow is still in the back corner of the yard and the parents are still making a racket when I go in the backyard with dog. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do, that's where dog does his business. Yesterday, though, I got too close to baby while trying to get dog away and they swooped at me. And they did it again even though I was on the driveway about to go in the house. When I told honey about it later, he reminded me that crows never forget a face. Oh great. These crows will be swooping at me for the rest of my life.
Went for a ride along the Gateway Trail. 7 miles, 50 minutes. I just love how unused railroad tracks have been turned into trails. As I was riding, enjoying the peacefulness, I again was awed by how it can seem like I am in the middle of nowhere while being in the heart of the city. I also stopped for a few minutes along the way to watch some men play tuj lub, a Hmong sport played with tops.
Thought I was going to have a flare-up as I was very crampy starting mid-afternoon yesterday. But all night and this morning I seem to be okay. I'll focus on more liquids today.
