My cactus is blooming! While driving two weeks ago, I noticed a large patch of blooming prickly pears and was so impressed, hoping someday mine would bloom, and now in only the second year, they're blooming.

I took pictures before it's fully open, because I wouldn't be surprised if the deer get them before they open completely. So pretty!
Sunday was noneventful. Did my prep for the week. Cabbage/cauliflower salad and watermelon for lunches and turkey/tvp taco salad for dinners. Dropped off foodscraps. Went to library to see if they still carry books on CD (they don't) and to ask for assistance with that app. The help desk guy tried to tell me that it was only for educational institutions which was not true. I did, finally, and on my own, figure out how to filter out all the manga and kids books.
Went to a different Sierra that had a really nice Yakima bike rack, several hundred dollars less than Amazon. I sent honey info on it to look through. It's more than I want to spend, but having a good quality rack is important too. I don’t know...
He mentioned last night how much he enjoyed the bike ride we took on Saturday. Maybe we've finally found a physical activity we both enjoy.
I have not seen the swans since the day I confirmed six. There were a lot of white feathers in the water the next day, which leads me to believe there was a bird fight with a predator. All I can do is wait.
The bucks are growing their antlers.
And I ran into a walking acquaintance this morning. We started talking longer than we usually do, and we learned we have a lot in common, including having held many different kinds of jobs. She also got a bike this year...maybe I have a biking buddy???

Wow. Your deer are WAY heftier than the ones we have out here!
I didn't realize there were different sizes of deer until we were down in the south and saw so many puny deer. I don’t know if it's fact, but it seems the colder the weather, the larger the deer.
