Friday Sucked

Am I the only person who wakes up on Saturday morning wondering how the demented one and his gangsters have ruined the weekend yet again? The only peace president he is, is a piece of shit president.

I had an incredibly stressful day at work yesterday. Incredibly so. One of my worst days in the 8 yrs I've been there. So many panicked phone calls, so many procrastinators. And by noon I'm informed that there will be absolutely no one working in the afternoon in an entire department of 9 people who work closely with mine! I couldn't fucking believe it! What kind of manager allows that??? And one of my team members wasn't 'feeling well' and clocked out at 2pm.

But the person who took the cake was the customer who had to have her order in by 4pm. She called me at 10 (and would not stop talking, typical New Yorker), I had her quote to her at 11. She calls back because she needs to amend it (and again would not stop talking, wasting my time). All afternoon I kept checking to see if she'd made any progress. Nope. So at 2:45 I took my lunch break because she hadn't done anything yet and I figured she was just going to use the quote she got. And she calls at 2:46 saying she was just starting on it. So I worked through my lunch to accommodate her and delivered her revised quote at 3:30. And she still needed to get it approved! The arrogance of this woman to think I should bend over backwards for her, as though she is the only customer I have. I had at least 10 other rush requests on top of the 25 regular quotes I had to get out. And, my computer started running slow. And IT never did get back to me so I had to manually change 2000 data entries. By quitting time at 5, I was a stressed out wreck.

Honey arrived shortly after and we went out for tacos. I also got dessert, because, dammit, I'd earned it. And when we got home, I crawled into bed and just chilled for an hour, catching up on news and emails, etc. I came out at 7:30 and felt so much better just having that quiet hour to recharge. We watched the movie Rental Family with Brendan Fraser which was such an incredibly heart-warming movie. Just what I needed.

And then I had to wake up to the demented one's shit.

At least the predicted 2-4" of snow fell further south. So there's that.
