Oh, where to start??? The major change at the company that occurred in April that no one bothered to tell our department? The phone call from a CEO? The long line of cars on my street?
Maybe I'll start with pics. The prickly pear cactus and Firewitch dianthus planted last year have exploded this year!
If the cactus also blooms this year, it will be a bonus. But all the new buds!! So exciting!
I think Firewitch should have been named Fireworks, because that is what it looks like right now.
I am so happy with both!
There was a car accident yesterday along the main road and traffic was detoured to my street. The street was backed up with cars for 2 blocks! I laughed inside when i hopped on my bike and passed them all after work on my way to drop off food scraps😊
I have to include this, from my favorite political cartoonist, Steve Sack:
ICE detention centers are rapidly becoming a humanitarian disgrace hidden in plain sight. Deaths in ICE custody have surged to their highest level in two decades, with medical experts concluding that most were likely preventable with proper care. Reports describe detainees suffering physical and sexual abuse, pregnant women denied meaningful treatment, and seriously injured patients returned to crowded facilities without adequate medical attention. At the same time, oversight has eroded as detention populations surge, with inspection failures, suicide prevention breakdowns, and dangerous medical neglect repeatedly documented — yet facilities continue operating as if nothing is wrong. The most disturbing part may be how quickly this system is becoming normalized in communities just beyond the razor wire.
And he doesn't even touch on the fact that medical personnel aren't being paid and are withdrawing. This is yet another disturbing and disgusting chapter in American history. Most corrupt president and government ever.
Work. Ugh. What a mess everything is. My department is consistently overlooked and forgotten. I am not upset about it, because that's the story of my life, often overlooked. But my owner/manager is upset at herself for not confirming we had received the info, because as a result of our not knowing, our dept has been putting out misinformation in our emails for two months.
And then I find out we're supposed to not include credit card links in our emails. Again, information not passed on. I am still trying to get confirmation if this applies to all orders or just large orders, and if large only, what is the dollar amount that is considered large.
And I received a call from the CEO of one of our business partners after three emails over a two-week period of my waiting for an answer from him that affected a customer. So that caused a stir with the owner/director who had to call me about it. And she wants to talk more about it with me today because when she reached out to him, he seems to be wanting to take over our existing customers. Even after I explained during my phone call with him that they offer one thing and we offer multiple things, so there's no way he could do that. His name shares many of the same letters as AssWipe, so that's what I've been calling him in my head.
And then, my manager wants to talk to me today about our admin. I think they're going to shift her, which means added work for us. Without the extra pay, I'm sure.
I'm not paid enough for all this drama.
Honey is mad at me. I straight out asked him if he was mad at me and he responded with 'No, should I be?" Which is his passive-aggressive way of saying yes, I'm angry, but I won't tell you why, and if you can't figure it out, that makes me angrier and I'm going to hold that against you too. I ignore it, because if someone won't talk about it, then I am not going to waste any emotion worrying about it. If he chooses to suffer silently instead of discussing it, and that’s on him, not me.
He did get the water pressure back up by cycling the iron thingy. That is good.
And that's all I can write for today. So much more to get out, not enough time.
